With all the turmoil the planet is going through right now, it is wonderful to photograph in a beautiful spot with two people very much in love. On June 14, Jaime, Josh and I traveled out to Fire Island to spend a few hours enjoying the scenery and photographing the occasion. Jamie and Josh spent many summer days on the Island and this was the special place where they wanted their engagement session to be. We ferried out to Ocean Beach and walked around the town and down to the beach. The weather was perfect and the surf inviting.

The Notorious “AIG”
March 23, 2009 – 3:40 pm
Linda and I were coming out of the movie theater yesterday after seeing the film “Knowing” with Nicholas Cage. Across the street from the theater is one of the corporate offices of AIG.
We were amazed at how foreboding the sight was. Notice how the darkness seems to be pouring down over the building and the reflection of the blue sky is slipping away. Oh I captured the image with my Blackberry camera. Not bad.
By the way we really enjoyed the film.

Venice Beach, Calif.
February 27, 2009 – 9:25 pm
Venice Beach, California is beautiful any time of year. This is a February afternoon with the temperature in the high 60’s. I’m starting a project to photograph as much of the California coastline as I can this year.

Producers Guild of America Awards 2009
February 26, 2009 – 4:41 pm
It has been a while since the last post. Many things in the world have transitioned along with things in our lives. L.D.Bright has opened an LA based office and residence and will be operating out of both locations - LA and NJ. We are involved in wire service submissions of Hollywood award galas and entertainment photo sessions. We will be booking weddings and other events through event planners on the West coast. The Producers Guild of America had its award show on January 24th and I am posting some images from that coverage.

Anna & Christofer
July 1, 2008 – 11:11 am
After posting Anna & Christofer’s engagement photos I’ve been anxious to follow up with their wedding. They were married on May 16th at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ. The Pleasantdale is one of the most beautiful spots in New Jersey. Beautiful gardens, an amazing lakeside area for ceremonies and a spectacular ballroom. Unfortunately, this day was spotted with rain and it was too wet to go outside for photographs. The one upside of this circumstance is the Pleasantdale has so many beautiful indoor areas that the bride and groom were completely satisfied with the result.
The design of the wedding was handled by one of my favorite designers, David Mitchell of “Still Life Design” in Morristown, NJ. David has a style that is both beautiful and edgy.
To put the final touch on an amazing day they had the great entertainment experience of “The Infernos” band. Bobby Wells and the group can make any rainy day a sunny brilliance.

Jamaica - soon come
June 6, 2008 – 12:52 pm
In our spare time Linda and I head to Jamaica. A most beautiful land with beautiful people. We love it so much that in 2005 we started building a house on the south coast, in Treasure Beach. For those of you who want a exotic Caribbean getaway this is the place to go. Plenty of time and space for clearing out the noise from daily living.
If you’re looking for a great spot in Treasure Beach, that would be Jakes. This hotel, with separate hobbit like houses, offers a great transition from the typical high priced resorts like Round Hill, Half Moon or The Ritz Carlton. On Memorial Day weekend, every year, they host The Calabash Festival. This festival brings together writers and artists from around the world. It is 3 days of enlightening, right brain, activity.
If you are looking for a more Jamaican experience I recommend you check out Calabash House, which is right on the beach. This beautiful guest house is owned by our dear friend Elizabeth Seltzer. It is more private than Jakes and has the best beach and calmest waters in town. There is an on site cook, Miss Dawn, who will send your taste buds into ecstasy with her authentic Jamaican cuisine. Elizabeth has adorned the walls of the house with her amazing mosaic art and once you’re there you’ll never want to leave.
Jamaica offers a wealth of imagery for both amateur and professional photographers. Here are just a handful of images we capture on trips to our second home.

“NAPP” Editor’s Choice
June 6, 2008 – 8:43 am
I am pleased to announce that the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) has selected 2 of my images for “editors choice” 2 weeks running. The first image is Guitar Player. This image was shot at a wedding in the Cayman Islands. JoAnne Brown, the owner of CelebrationsLTD, in Grand Cayman, threw a spectacular event for her daughter Kristin and her fiance Basso in April of 2007. As a surprise for the bride and groom JoAnne hired the best reggae band in Jamaica to perform from Midnight until the wee hours. Needless to say the joint was jumping.

The second image was shot as a promotional piece for the band “Tony C and the Truth.” That’s Tony in the center with the cigarette. Their record company was sending them on a nationwide tour and wanted an image that conveyed the edginess of their music. It was shot in a club in Westchester, NY and the eight ball image I shot while they were performing.

It is truly an honor to be chosen among all the great digital artists that present there work on the Napp website. These artists are not only photoshop designers, but truly imaginative in their creations. If you are interested in viewing some of their work please visit the photoshopuser website. The portfolio area is open to members only, but those of you who are photoshop enthusiasts might consider joining. It is extremely beneficial in enhancing your photoshop skills.
